Southampton - Gosport - Havand
28 Mar 2009
This morning Ines picked me up before 10 am and together we headed to Havand, which is a city very close to Portsmouth. On the way there we stop by Betty (Gosport), a friend of Ines' to drop off a gift for a little boy who lives there. we talked a bit with Betty, and continue our trip to Havand.
Yes, no doubt Spring is in the air, but are still having chilly days, sometimes with very strong windows, which drops the temperatura to even lower numbers. Although no anyone can promise me anything, i am hoping to be able to retiring my winter coat over the summer. :-) what a drama!!! but it is in fact colder than I ever experienced in any Spring.
Well, at Vera's place we spend a delightul day. Her husband, Chris Sinha offered us a luxurious brunch and we talked a lot about the weather, about Brazil, about kids, about life here in the UK.
Ines and I interview Vera because she carries out a very interesting work at the local prison. She is from Rondonia, and met Chris when he was as visiting professor at Universidade Federald e Pernambuco, where she was doing her PhD. They got married and now have a cute boy called Oliver. Chris loves Brazil and they all plan to live there in the future.
We were planning to walk to city centre to visit the shops in Havand, but the rain (i had to sing as 'aguas de marco') prevented us from doing so. We stayed in the house instead and came back home about 3pm. On the way home Ines and I stopped by Makro, the huge supermarket and, of course, did some shopping. Ines always has precious advices concerning good stuff to buy. I bought a bottle of Australian wine and some other 'indispensable' goods. Ines and I are of course busy people with our own lives, but we once in a while manage to get together and talk a lot. i was telling her on the way back home that i think these little trips are because we get to see our friends and have fun and get away from routine a bit.
Ines, thanks a bunch for the happy Saturday together. I really enjoyed it.
